Not a survey. Claim layouts, corner positions, bearings and distances are computed from public GIS data (BLM CadNSDI, USGS) and are approximate. They are not a land survey. Monument your claims on the ground and verify positions with GPS.

Land status. ClaimStaker does not yet show land withdrawals, private or state land, or existing mining claims. Before locating, confirm that the land is federal land open to mineral entry and not already claimed, for example in BLM's Mineral & Land Records System.

Requirements change. Statutes, regulations, fees and recorder rules change. State requirements were reviewed October 11, 2026. Confirm current requirements with the county recorder and BLM before filing. Recording a document does not make a claim valid; validity depends on discovery and compliance with law.
